Who we are

VISION
Empowering youth and women through innovative skill development programs, fostering a generation of leaders, creators, and entrepreneurs equipped to drive sustainable growth and positive change in their communities and beyond."

MISSION STATEMENT
"Our mission is to provide comprehensive and inclusive skill-building programs for youths and women, fostering their potential through education, mentorship, and hands-on training. We aim to bridge the skills gap, promote equal opportunities, and create a supportive environment where every individual can thrive, contribute meaningfully to their communities, and drive positive change in the world.

The organization started in 2019 under the name African Pot CBO. We have since changed the name to Shapeskills Foundation
With the rapid change in the job market youth are facing challenges of adopting digital skills. A research done by UNICEF says globally, there is about 1 billion youth and women who lack the skills they needed to succeed in rapidly changing job markets in the 21st century while 1 in 4 girls aged 19 years is neither employed nor in education or training and also for 1 in 10 boys of the same age.

With the world digitalization, there is always a digital component in every job opportunity. In most communities we find female gender stereotype and traditions that affect youth and especially girls in the choice of work to do. Most youth are staying idle in marginalized communities ending up in early marriages, arranged and forced marriages. They become mothers at a very tender age hence reducing the number of women workforce.

Solution

We are unlocking their potential by empowering them with skills that are employable. This helps to build their self-esteem and confidence and create a space for them in the society where discrimination and inequality will not thrive.

Since inception of this program in 2019, more than 300 youth have benefited from the program and our target is to reach 2000 youth by 2025.These skills has helped the youth be able to transition into workspace, get employment and also be self-employed.

We have worked to ensure youth remain competitive in this century .
We are looking at empowering 100 youth and young mothers by the end of 2024 with 70 %of them being self employed and sustainable with a unique side hustle activity that is income generating.
